Wow this is the last letter that I send home to you guys from Nicaragua. I am really excited to see everyone again. We are saying our goodbyes to everyone and it is sad but I am sure that I will see them again. I still don´t know how to feel though. It seems like it is just a story of someone else going home but not me. I feel like this is just my life now. But it is coming to an end and it can´t go on forever.

Mom, thanks for the money that you put in, we will see what we can do with it. That stinks that Kaleb didn´t bring back much from his mission. Pretty much everything I have bought here is for everyone else except me, haha. I got the best gift already, the mission. I have learned not to really care too much about myself here just those around me and what will make them happy. That is the best way for yourself to be happy, haha.

Dad it is okay if you don´t get the washer fixed, I can teach you how to do it by hand on some rocks, haha. It makes your arms strong, haha. The Moms here are so strong from doing that all day. Maybe thats why boxing is so popular here, haha.

Ya it was really awesome finishing the Book of Mormon again and reflecting on everything you learned. It makes you want to just start over again, haha. I want to keep reading in Spanish though so that I can keep it up.

The Conference with Elder Nelson was so awesome and just wow. He is all power and authority. He let us all pass and shake his hand too. When I came up to him and looked in his eyes he could see into the depths of my soul. You can just see infinite wisdom and knowledge. It is really crazy how much the eyes can tell about a person. That is one thing I have seen here. The difference in the eyes of the people who are living the gospel and those who are not.

Hey, tomorrow we have our baptism for Jimmy and Cristina and the kids at 6 oclock in the morning! haha Bishop Torres left with us to work and when we visited them, Katerine asked us when they were going to get baptized, so Bishop asked them when and he set the date for Tuesday in the morning. They all said yes so it is a good to go. So that is awesome! haha

Well I have to go now but I love you lots and lots and...

Well, this will be the last Email that I get a reply to. I better make use of it I guess. Well you definitely have some really cool stories to tell. It is crazy how the Lord works. I guess that I will be able to get to know him when I get back also. That would be cool if they let me go out and work with them too. That would be awesome if Israel's dad is interested now. My comps parents just got baptized yesterday.

So Dad is getting carried away with the tops? haha Has he broken anything or himself yet? I hope Dad learned how to throw it into his hand outside of the house. Do you throw it down towards the ground and sling it back up or throw it away from you and fling it back? I almost broke a florescent light doing it the first way, haha.

As for what to eat when I get home, biscuits and gravy would be nice, with waffles, haha. Anything but rice and beans please.

Oh I am going to finish the Book of Mormon before I finish my mission so that has been really cool. It gets pretty sad though from Helaman on. Except for when Jesus Christ comes here. It is really cool to know that he came to where I am serving and that I am completing the prophecy that the Lamanitas will be taught by the gentiles later on after they have repented. I kind of know what it was like to be a missionary in the Book of Mormon because I am teaching the same people, just generations ahead. That has been a really cool experience.

I guess I did get a little carried away with the Bionicals, sorry. And tell Batman sorry too. A super hero team would be a lot better. But you´ll have to come up with some names for them because they are only green, blue and red Bionicals to me.

That is pretty weird that no one had seen the message of having the Temple President interview you. What other signals or warnings are they missing? haha

Well I hope you're ready Dad to play some Tennis because it is going to be intense.

Well I am already out of time but I love you guys lots and lots and I can´t wait to see you soon. Hey what should I bring home? Like toothpaste, deodorant, clothes or nothing? Alright love you lots and lots and....

Amount of hours I have been here in Nicaragua Hearts

Alrighty then. Mom I don´t feel any better that you ate for me, especially when it was baked beans. We did eat McDonalds today though and that made me sick as always. I had a Big Mac for the first time here in Nicaragua of all places. I also got a Snickers McFlurry.

It seems that a lot are getting there mission calls to the states lately, but Mississippi is cool (Brett Murdoch's Mission Call to the Mississippi Jackson Mission). Didn´t Sam serve there?

Mom my boots are falling apart little by little but they will make it home so don´t worry. They are my only shoes now, haha.

As for food we have been eating Pupusas every night, partly because they are really good and partly because we teach the pupusa makers. But this Sunday none of our investigators came to church so that really stunk. We had a few telling us that they were coming but when we passed by their houses in the morning they all had excuses or weren´t there. It has been kind of tough finishing up here and it is too late to find, teach, and baptize new people. We are going on but we will be leaving some investigators for the next missionaries who come here.

I haven´t heard anything about my package yet. There are also various other missionaries who are waiting for packages also. We will probably get them when we have the conference, if not someone lucky gets a package of goodies, haha.

As for my Bionocals, I will have to make some homemade weapons here in Nicaragua for when I get back, haha. A machete, rocks, glass bottle, chain, or some other nica weapon. A firecracker would be the suicidal weapon if I am about to lose to take us both out, haha.

Hey, has the new Wii U come out or does it still going to be some time? I am really excited for the new Zelda game. What have you heard about it?

Dad about cooking the egg in the Top Ramen, you need to cover the bowl with a plate or something so that it keeps cooking and cooks the egg. That worked for me because we had a really weak electric stove that that couldn´t even boil water, and covering it got it hot.

Wow that would be really awesome if me and Rachel got off at the same time and everything (Rachel is flying home from BYU Idaho and her plane is scheduled to get in at exactly the same time as Elder Ochs', and in the same Terminal Building). Hopefully neither of the two planes get ahead or behind. It would be nice to have someone help me carry my luggage, haha.

As for today I believe that we are going to go play Tennis. I completely forgot to tell you guys that last Monday we played Tennis and it was a lot of fun. There is a big park in the area of our District Leaders and the owner is a member so he let us play for really cheap. We had to rent rackets and balls and we played for about 2 1/2 hours. I am really bad at playing now though, haha. I could hardly even serve the ball. I had to hit it underhand to make it into the box, haha. We went early in the morning and now we are going to go in the afternoon and bake in the sun. I need to get some color before I go home, haha. But ya it is a lot of fun. Dad, and Mom, if you want, we are going to play a lot when I get home, alright? No one else is at home so you guys are going to do everything with me. Play video games, ride bikes, climb the water tower, everything, haha. Just kidding, but seriously no one else is going to be home. That or you can ask members if there are jobs open for when I get home, your choice, haha.

Sorry Mom I forgot my camera to send pictures but next week. I love you guys lots and lots and even more lots and....

So ya there is little time left here for me in Nicaragua but I am having fun still. That is a pretty cool looking Lego Batman. I have other Lego warriors similar to that too. Maybe we can have a battle. Mine have swords, claws, and an ax, haha. That Beatles show sounds really awesome. I would definitely take that opportunity if I was you Dad. Man that Kinect system thing sounds really cool. I always knew that Brennan was born to be a dancer, haha. Have you guys gotten the new Zelda game?

Ya we kind of have the same tradition here about burning little figures who represent the past us. The difference is that it is an old man and they stuff the shirts and pants and head with a bunch of bombs. We had 5 of them by our house so you can imagine what it was like, haha. The next day there was a lot of burnt shoes and boots in the street from all of the old men burnt the night before. It was interesting walking to church. There weren`t any buses or taxis running and it looked like a war zone with all of the burnt stuff and people lying in the streets and sidewalks, haha. The people in the streets were drunks, not dead people.

We had the guy who lives in front of us come to church with us. He liked it a lot and is going to bring his kids next week. The wife makes pupusas so we eat there almost every night. she is really Catholic because of her parents, but she would make an awesome member and I know she will like it if she would only try to go.

As for Jimmy and Cristina, they are doing worse. They had a big fight and everything New Years night. They are seeing what it is like to distance yourself from the church after so many blessings they had received. They will be baptized before I go though. We have other investigators here and there but these last 2 weeks of December is the worst time for missionary work because of all of the drinking and parties and way too much temptation. It was like this last year and the years before.

I haven´t gotten the Christmas package yet, how big was it? If it is big than it is held in the office until we have a conference or we go personally to the office.

Oh something really cool that is going to happen before I leave is that Elder Russel M. Nelson is coming and we will be able to meet him. On the 18th.

So ya that is what has been going on here. I love you lots and lots and lots and....

Hola Hola familia. It was really great to hear from you all Saturday. It was good to hear how you were doing and what not. Hey, you never told what the surprise was for Uncle Mark. I really like the chess set too. I also like the picture in the back of Rachel and me in the mission. That is awesome.

Christmas here was pretty good I guess. We got invited to different houses to eat boiled chicken so that was great, haha. That night everyone lit off fireworks, or more like bombs, at midnight to celebrate so that was cool too. Not too many people showed up to the Sacrament Meeting the next day and we only had one investigator that went. The Jimmy and Cristina family are wanting more time before they get baptized and now a bunch of problems are coming to stop them. It is really difficult.

Today we went to the Market and I almost got everything for everyone. This market is a little more expensive than the the one in Masaya but it was reasonable. We then ate some Hamburlooca and that was good. I pretty much already talked about the other things that have been going on here in the phone call so there isn`t too much more to talk about, haha.

I hope all of you are well and wish you a Happy New Year. I love you lots and lots.
Amount of times we should forgive Hearts,

Wow it is great to hear all of the great things that are happening. That movie Hugo, I read the book once when we were at Barnes and Noble. The book is mainley just pictures and the ending was strange. It was supposedly given a bunch of awards as a book but that is cool that they made it as a movie too. They need to do the Bartimus Trilogy or some of the Peter Pan books or the one with the kid and his little friend. Sorry Mom about your bad experience and they you didn`t get to try any of the good looking food. Did you guys order the candle from Oregon or something? That is awesome that the Primary got to do a small Christmas presentation for the ward. I can`t wait to see all of the little ones all grown up, haha. The video greeting worked but I used a Cyber without headphones so I wasn`t able to listen to it. It was nice to see all of your smiling faces though. That would be cool Dad to get an insulated hammock. They don`t sell those here though because insultation isn`t necesary. The President Daniel Ortega has his house pretty protected and you can`t go in without a setup visit ahead of time. It is completely blocked off by huge green fences with police all around. Maybe I will give him a call though. I told you those slippers were a hot item, haha. I will start preparing my talk now and the fireside will be easy. Is Kaleb going to be there too? What is his Topic? You aren`t serious about the fancy Beans and Rice restraunt, right? I would not eat there for a while. I think that I will get Tyler a soccer outfit of the favorite team here or something. Dad you put quite the dent in the horn. Can you put cereal in the dent in your back, haha. I imagine the wall got a little scratched up too. I have eaten that Top Ramen with egg here too, haha. It is pretty good.

Today was an even worse Pday than last week. The one year anniversary of the Mission President is comming up so we had a multi-Zone planning meeting to put together something for them. We went to the chapel but it felt like we really didn't get that much done for 2 hours. I got to meet missionaries from other zones though so that was cool. We are preparing something but it is hard to have order with a bunch of missionaries during Pday.

I haven`t got the package yet. Is it kind of big? I may get it at the last changes.

I do have two new pictures for you:

Here is a picture of me studying in my room.

He is going to finish the mission with me. He also went to the MTC with his siter and she already went home in August too. He is really cool and we are going to finish strong here in Acahualinca. He is from Guatemala and he is 25 years old. His parents aren`t members but all of his brothers and sisters are.

We tried a soup that I would have never imagined eating Saturday night. Bone marrow soup. The substance is a little more solid than a lugi. It leaves a filmy slime on your tetth too. It was a gagging experience but we finished it. The good thing is that I found Chocolate Chip Cookie mix in the store so we are going to make that for the Family Home Evening treat. I am going to finish the mission with my two kids in the same zone too. Elders Feliciano and Santos, so that is really cool! Hey has there been an Elder Bowers in the Oakdale ward within these past two years. One of the missionaries here is best friends with him and he believes that he served in our ward. Well it is going good and I can`t wait to see you all again. Love you tons and...

Well it is great to hear from all of you again this week. So did the sleeping bag over the hammock work, haha. I would expect it to be a little breezy at the top.

Dad you finally found the house. That is it at the corner.

About the talks that we have to give when we get back, do you know what they are on or about? I can start now a little bit ahead of time, haha. What kind of fireside will it be? For our ward, stake, or something else?

Dad I have already forgotten your number and just to be safe could you send me the number of Mom and Rachel too.

For some reason Google couldn´t show the videos. I will see if it works on other computers but I am not sure.

Ya last Pday was boring and also this one. We were going to go play baseball with the zone today but my comp takes forever to get ready so when we had gotten to the chapel they had already left and I don`t know where to. Um, the president would machete me if I showed up at his house because it isn`t in my area and the missionaries don`t visit him.

Happy Anniversary to the both. Mom, hurry and buy those Batman slippers because that is a hot item that goes fast, haha. Rachel, my hair turned out good I guess. I forgot to take a picture of it to send.

As for my week, this was the last week of the change. Today I will find out who is going to kill me. My last change starts Wednesday.

Our animated family came to church this Sunday and also a surprise family that we weren`t expecting. The family of Jimmy and Cristina are going to get baptized this weekend. Our zone leaders came and interviewed them last night and they are good to go. We need to go talk to the surprise family tonight to see if they want to get baptized.

As for the gift for Tyler, do you think that he would like one of the tops. I want to get him a traditional Nicaraguan shirt but I don`t have access to one here. I will bring one when I get home.

Well I love you all lots and lots,

Alright well it was great to hear from you all. That trip of the Kimball's was really awesome. That movie "Cricket on the Hearth" sounds like a classic, haha. Did you rent it or buy it? Poor little Luke, sounds like us with Ryan, haha. Maybe that is why he walks all funny like now. Tell Grandma and Grandpa thank you very much and I love them a ton. I am not sure that the Seventies stiff arm regular members but I hope not, haha.

Well now I know where the house is. So there is a block where there a bunch of little blue roofed houses all lined up at the upper right hand corner. Go four blocks to the left. In that block it is the long brown roofed house at the bottom right corner. We live there at the corner. Hopefully you find it.

Wow President Gelwix is pilas. That is awesome. The missionaries work really hard for their baptisms.

Dad don´t worry. I will inherit those slippers, haha. Hopefully the first kid is a boy. Those Batman heads are really big, haha. Those can be used as pillows also. Did you already buy them because the picture is of them in the store?

That was an awesome story about Bishop in the Subway and being able to help that guy out.

About the phone call on Christmas, Will you have your cellphone with you also? I can call on the 24th or the 25th. Which one would be better?

This Sunday we had the same family come to church again and they are really animated. They are doing great and the spirit is strong with them right now. We will need to baptize them soon before the Spirit leaves. If not this weekend the next. We have to get our baptisms in the water before the 24th and 31st of December because everyone drinks on those dates. Even if they don´t drink all year long, it is tradition that everyone drinks those days.

I don´t know if any reindeer is going to want to eat carrots out of my stinky boots, so we will have to see I guess, haha. Or if Sinterklaas can penetrate my fortress.

I love you tons and

Santa´s Cookies Hearts,

Alright so you had an awesome Thanksgiving. The "Bottle of Power" sounded fun to play, haha. It was fun here too. The mission gave us money to buy something for Thanksgiving and we put the zone money all together and bought pies, ice cream and milk. That was pretty tasty. That is what we did for Thanksgiving.

Dad as far as where is my house, you got it, that is the Plaza with the tree and everything. I do live close to a lot of cool stuff but I haven´t visited any of them yet. The Plaza has a big carnival there right now so that is going on 24/7. But my house is from the Presidential Palace all the way to the left. If you can zoom in around there I think I can spot it out. Between the National Theater and the Palace I am pretty sure.

No I haven´t seen Brother Falabella for a while because he is working a lot in his business and isn´t going on splits with the missionaries now. I am writing him though and he is doing good. That hanger in the picture is his actually which is why I took a picture with it, haha. Elder Montierth was dressing up for Halloween and he went as Trix the Rabbit. I think he just found the mask thing and made a costume out of that. He is actually getting married soon. He is already engaged haha. But he is having fun I guess, haha.

As far as the BYU thing, I think that you are right about waiting it out. I saw that calendar and it confused me. I don´t think that I am supposed to do it yet. I am just so glad that the yards will be spotless when I get home, not till next year for me, haha. Ya I still need to get more stuff before handing out the stuff from the package. I think that I will wait till I can pass them out personally. There isn´t as much cool things where I am at right now.

This weekend we had our baptism for Gabriela and it went good.

I got to baptize her so that was cool. She is like 12 years old and the family is really cool. The rest of the family are members except for the little girls. They are really cool. We also had a a whole family that came to church and they liked it a lot. They have been having a lot of family problems and we have been helping them out. Hopefully we can baptize them before the end of this change. The bishop has been going out with us a lot and that is awesome. He really likes to do missionary work. Tonight we are going to have to Family Home Evenings with him.

This Wednesday Elder Amado of the Setenta (Seventy) for Central America came and talked to us. He gave us training on missionary work and it was really good. He talked about how Nephi was allowed by the law to kill Laban because they were living the Law of Moses where it was eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. When Laban tried to kill him unjustly that automatically gave him permission to get him back. But it isn´t like that now, haha.

Well I love you all lots and lots

The amount of stink there is in this Cyber right now next to an open sewage Hearts,
Hopefully I get the majority of them. Well first Dad I don´t recognize the picture you took. Maybe it would be better if you found the chapel in Acahualinca and then it is like 10 blocks East I think. Hopefully that helps. I won´t be able to see Brother Falabella but I will see Elder Amado the new Seventy. I have met Falabella before though, he is cool I guess. The video you sent me was really funny about the stolen candy on Halloween.

Yes, I need the answers to those questions you sent me Mom about school. I don´t know anything about that or how to do the paper work. Maybe if you sent me the requirements for me then I can do what I need to do here. They give us time to do that.

Hey I am going to buy the house next door. Save it for me for when I get back, haha.

I have never heard of the Frisbee rule (the guide book for the Nicaragua Mission discouraged the Missionaries from bringing Frisbees or Footballs to the Mission) but that would be weird if it was one. What could happen with a Frisbee? Yes, The boy I gave my plastic top to was able to get me a nice wooden one. I have gotten it down alright but I don´t know how to battle. Hopefully little kids don´t challenge me.

Sunday we had two investigators in Church and one is getting ready for a Baptism this Saturday. It is a 12 year old girl and we are activating her family. They are really cool people and funny.

Mom I found out a secret to make your fruit trees give fruit twice as much in the year. A old lady told me that if you put CDs, ornaments and other wierd stuff in a tree or plant it gets embarrassed and it blooms more flowers and gives more fruit to look good again. You should try it out.

Well I got to finish up now but I love you all a ton

I can´t think of a size vast enough to express Hearts for you,

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-15583504958112068352011-11-14T11:55:00.000-08:002011-11-20T03:09:45.177-08:00Mon, Nov 14, 2011 at 11:55 AM

Hey this is the only photo I think you don´t have.

It is my comp and me. I am eating a chocolate covered marshmallow with a gummy mouth and nose.

I am writing a little bit early today which is maybe why I haven´t got any thing from you guys yet. Elder Stanley and I are working a lot better this week together now. We started off a little rough but it is better now. There is still some stuff to correct but little by little. I am his Step-Dad so he only knew his Father. We got a new lunch lady to cook for us. She lives closer than the other. She is Chinese but doesn´t know how to make Chinese food. She came here when she was twelve so she is pretty Nica now. She is kinda of old and crazy. She has like 8 dogs in the house and she grabs them by the two side legs and drags them around. She also feeds the stray dogs outside. She is a pretty good cook though. She is always getting on Elder Stanley for not finishing all of his food, haha. She saw that he was giving me his juice yesterday, haha. She doesn`t really care though when I leave food on the plate, haha. She is crazy.

I got a cool top. One of our recent converts gave me one of his and I have been practicing a lot. I got it down but now I want to do some tricks. Everyone here knows how to spin tops. It is a childhood experience for all Nicas. I had a plastic one but I gave it to a kid so he could win me a wooden one which is better. They have battling competitions to win other peoples tops here.

Today we played Ultimate Frisbee for the first time in my whole mission. Another Elder has been asking his parents for one his whole mission but they didn`t send it until now and he is going home this change, haha. It was a lot of fun and now the zone wants to play it more. I made a lot of touchdowns. They were saying that I was the Chery Picker, haha. I do like cherries.

Sunday we had two investigators that came to church so that was really cool. We had a lot of people telling us that they were coming but didn`t show up. Maybe we will have more this next Sunday, yes.

Alright well I love you guys lots and hope to hear from you soon.

Lucha Libre Hearts,

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-75128400616850048512011-11-07T13:49:00.000-08:002011-11-20T02:50:44.307-08:00Mon, Nov 7, 2011 at 1:49 PM

Wow wow a lot did happen in this last week. It seems like a long time since the last time I wrote for some reason though. So yes I am in a new place but in the same Zone I was in about a 1 1/2 years ago. I am in Managua again with the heat. My area is really close to my last area Linda Vista actually. My area is called Acahualinca. We are right next to a place called the Plaza which is used for performances and everything. Right now they have a really tall Christmas lights tree that you can see from the house. There is also a carnaval right now and it goes all night. Recently they did the elections so everyone has been crazy here. Unfortunately you can`t carry around your camera here because robbing is normal. So I may not be sending as many photos now and there aren`t really any cool plants and flowers either. I do have a few pictures for this week though:

A picture of my last zone

My flight plans for coming home. Brother Falabella is a good friend that was in the Ward when I was last here in Managua.

Now we have running water so that is nice. The house that we are in is pretty cool also. I meant to take pictures but I forgot. It is two stories tall but not all that much space. We sleep upstairs and it is kind of tucked away and hidden so I like it a lot. It is kind of like a little fortress haha. I will probably die here like Rachel said but I am fine with that. We have a nice grocery store here that has a lot of nice food so I am excited about that. I bought Chex Mix the other day there. They recently built a new capilla (Chapel) that is really nice. Sunday we only stayed for the Sacrament session so that the people could go vote. That Sunday so many people gave us red soda, like 2 liters each of us. I was sick of soda. My new comp is Elder Stanley from Panama! He said that he is from the capital. I don`t know if you knew him Rachel. I will send a picture next week of him. He likes to work a lot so that is great. I am his Step Dad so he is pretty new here. I eventually broke in half his one dollar air soft gun though because he kept shooting me, haha. But that is the news here.

Now to answer the other questions. The Beaches here are really nice and very warm. I definitely want to come back here to swim and surf and whatnot.

It sounds like you all had a fun Halloween there. Dad the video you sent didn`t work, I don`t know why.

For Pday today we played a game that we invented here in Nicaragua in my last area. It is called "Horseball". You play it on a court where it has the lines for Basketball and Volleyball. It is a mix of a few games. There are three people on each side inside of the yellow box for volleyball. there is a box between the two boxes also. You need to kick the ball past the other side with only two kicks from your side. The ball has to touch the inside of the box and you can`t touch it if it goes in the middle. It is called Horseball because you make crazy hits which they call here being a horse. Being a horse is when you do dumb stuff and sometimes in this game you make dumb kicks or you do kicks like a horse. I will have to show it to you all when I get back because it is actually really fun.

Hey Rachel I was thinking about applying for BYU Provo for the April-September session. Could you look that up for me and help me out with that?

Well I love you guys a ton like always and I hope to hear more interesting stories next week.

Tuna Hearts,

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-53109977391622084792011-10-31T16:24:00.000-07:002011-11-07T22:37:16.699-08:00Mon, Oct 31, 2011 at 4:24 PM

Oh man, Nicaraguans don´t celebrate Halloween. It is just another day, and it is raining. But you guys seem to be having a good time. I can´t wait to see the costumes. That one picture of Rachel is definitely scary. And Dad that is the picture I was referring to, haha. I didn´t realize it till afterwards reviewing it on the computer, haha. You said that Nikki came with Bryce and Ryan? Is Nikki with Bryce?

I tried taking out some money the other day and I couldn´t. Maybe it was just the bank but I don´t know. The amount in there is good though. You were saying Mom about the clothes, I am leaving behind my shoes because I can´t get rid of the mold growing on them and they are really old. I am going to see if my boots last me.

Rachel I believe I have tried out that caramelo milk thing here. They make some weird stuff here. I hope the headless bride turns out good and maybe you can scare Dwight, haha. I liked that scripture you sent me and the message. I want to buy a bunch of the church books online to start studying when I get back. I have been holding back from studying that kind of stuff while here on the mission. Which books does Dad already have?

Dad you never said who won between Whitmyer and Morgan. I heard that Sister Morgan is really good but I don´t know about Brother Whitmyer. I have only played once here Dad so I will challenge you when I get back, haha.

About the waterfall picture, you can´t see what is behind me. There is an artificial dam and a little dry path out to the edge. I had him take the picture so it looks like I am in the middle of a rapid waterfall, haha.

Today we went to a place called Masatepe to see a supposedly "cool" lake. It is just a water and trash run-off. We went down this really big hill to get there and we had to go back up it sweating like crazy. I can do that any day of the week in my own area. Afterwards we ate Pupusas.

<img style="display:block; Cool story that you found a guy from Panama, to bad Rachel wasn´t there to attack him, haha. Dang a Chess Night sounds like a lot of fun to do. I have played it once here but that is it. I have got a lot better with my car motion sickness. I sat backwards and hunched over for about a 40 minute drive today and I wasn´t even sick, yaaaeh!! As for the Christmas package just put some money in my account to get stuff in the Market in Masaya. I have a list of all of the names of the family and I still have more people to give gifts. I got Ryan´s gift today and something for some one else but I just don´t know for who yet.

Rachel that is awesome that you are going to BYU-Idaho. You will get to be there with Hillary. It is also going to be really chilly up there. Thanks for that scripture in the Book of Mormon. That is really cool and interesting to know. Somehow I don´t even remember that one, haha. And I read that one just a few weeks ago.

My Camera cards are fine and the package got sent off about a week ago now, I believe. Alright I will look for a gift for Tyler. I believe that we are going to Masaya this next week so I will get something cool there. That is really cool that you got to see Jeff Peabody. Pray for us so that we can finish up this change strong.

Love you lots and lots.

All of the creations Hearts,

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-87868295339734886282011-10-17T20:18:00.000-07:002011-10-17T21:13:52.793-07:00Mon, Oct 17, 2011 at 8:18 PM

Oh man I don`t have very much time to write to you guys and I forgot my camera in the house. I had a bunch of pictures to send you guys too. Oh man Yosemite, I miss that place. It does sound like you guys are having a lot of fun and eating some good food. I am also very glad that you weren`t fined $450 dollars. Dad, Mom is always right. I have learned that from early on and you are still working on it, haha. I enjoyed all of the pictures you sent. I really love to see your lovely faces. Rachel has some interesting clothing, haha. I didn`t get a good view of that beanie but it looked like a Grimlin or something, haha. Where did you get it? But in the end we are a very adventurous family.

So today we had a pretty awesome Pday and because of that, I don`t have very much time to write and it is getting late. We went to this place called La Maquina. It has all of these trails, cool trees of all types, and waterfalls. I got a picture up by the waterfalls but then the ranger guy also told us to get down. It has been raining all of this week. It is a wierd rain. There aren`t drops of water but a thick mist. Like walking through misters all day long. With the cold air and wind it has been really chilly till the point of cold. I never imagined being cold here in Nicaragua. So the guy was worried about the water rising or something. We weren`t even alloed to be there in the first place but we snuck in and then had one of the sister missionaries talk to the guy watching the place to let us take picture and what not. In the end we gave him some money and there was no harm done. I got a lot of cool pictures though. I am also preparing a disc to send home with all of my pictures from a memory card and some videos for you guys to see. Man I am really learning how to control my car motion sickness here, being packed into the back of these tiny vans and being taken all over the countryside. Hopefully I learn how to control it completely.

Mom you are the first person that I remembered to tell HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Before your birthday so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I am sending home a box of goodies and presents for the family at home. I am sending it tomorrow and it has your present in it. This package has a lot of cool stuff and there is more stuff to come. Let me know if the Ochs`s or Grahams are going to do a gift exchange this year because I want in on it.

Well I don`t have time and I need to run home now but I love you guys lots and lots, and hope to hear from you next week.

Central Valley Hearts,

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-80209652851360251232011-10-10T15:38:00.000-07:002011-10-17T16:43:47.406-07:00Mon, Oct 10, 2011 at 3:38 PM

Hey there you guys, thanks for writing me again this week. It was great to hear from you guys and what you´re doing. It is also getting a little cooler here too. At this time in La Concha the weather is really great supposedly. Hopefully I am here for a little bit longer or even finish here.

So here are a few more pretty flower I found in this area:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHZ47Ma_Bd_wUxGT08ZorDELWNFU1K01CTZdDMQ86KNHlhwTRSF7RjYCKEm2_p3QGKlDlWwCvLRbnDFL0P4aag8-qSjupQy_23nwjwxSENrDD2EnAanz-AoJffbHcLtfpCYV6-AIFbF-VS/s200/DSCF6067.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664604387564354450" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizsshEOWp8lWxDwiQ2tWClzr9L9JWvLYMO3_mlnFNek_ylvilp-YXZZsH4WpJYqeYcbf_9n0sqqulPkHzQiFJM_SuBalHEJ6u5Kf4APs8GhA_IBVEggi_Te1taeE_HcUPP6UymyVd7raFk/s200/DSCF6068.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664604390167700050" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhupTM3lkGzc11TbpD5SzJu1phnvLDKWsgnCbGh2tzzJ6GLgc18rDeZPebSHqN9q5SllryJbdnRr_uzKQ9q8K8wFRey9MnIP_uW-moJ6fE4HFTcCPzKV7jPBT3CH7oEIwDsGqS6eEWsS12N/s200/DSCF6069.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664604393509196658" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwqLIv-NR5ZpARhj-kvns8VTllU7HXZuhmAFCYsbOiH23SJ817ys9H64y_hv5MaCOXyxiq61rqfgNQy2qp84DZxiJu3UB3CXPC4kp284CWywyt6oaNvMf9kGQKiFwyqV9dRtOovOetbJc1/s200/DSCF6070.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664604395119285090" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3juFjAuKSNs4-wDzCXjgAr8ACyBRfTp1oS2yE3Uc-kL84-2WfuNZa8QudUH2lN0hnHgkyV_YY5uCydZg5sJTg4wNJtqn2wyWsQNj0mQYKZQUIrqiyyG3EKOd3-VPKXCV3vAWKVm-vc5K5/s200/DSCF6071.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5664604394420351042" />
Rachel I liked that lesson you guys learned about. That is really cool. I bet I would like to be able to teach like Bro Meiners. He always has good insights about the scriptures and understands them really well. Good luck and have fun on the camping trip. It is going to be chiiiilly. Especially for you if you haven´t adjusted yet haha. I was thinking about Mom and Dad leaving on the couples mission too. That would be so awesome. They would have to go to a Spanish speaking one though so we can all communicate between each other. I was thinking about that during the conference.

Mom stew and brownies sound really really good right now. Oh the package you sent was received. Thank you very much for the goods. They were very satisfying. I liked the picture too.

So has Montierth said anything? Has he replied? Have you asked him anything? He still writes every Monday too to let me know how life is and what not. He is studying in a Community College right now in Arizona. He is a really cool friend that you will probably meet often, haha.

I don´t know what the name of the guy with the hole in his head. It is more like a big ol dent I guess. You don´t touch any brain material. He doesn´t guy cross eyed but the people touching it do.

We have finally got our power back in the house so that is good news. It is a lot better at night now. I guess the power thing exploded or something. The wiring here isn´t that great either. They tie main power lines to dead-termite eaten trees as poles. So whenever there there is a storm and a little wind comes, someone is losing power. It is normal here though, haha.

Don´t worry Dad you will get used to the Spanish talk. Especially after you serve a mission here in Central America with Mom.

This Sunday none of our investigators came to church so that was a bummer. The four jovens are doing fine but they are always busy playing the piano in their own church that is practically all day everyday. We will see how it turns out. We want them to at least teach someone in the church how to play.

This week we had our Multi Zone Conference and I talked to an Elder that I went on divisions with in my last change in Ciudad Sandino. We did divisions as a Zone and I went to another area. Well Elder Styles had a reference to go contact way out in the boondocks in the mountains. So we walked out there looking for this guy, asking people in their wooden houses in the hot sun where this guy was. Turns out we were totally lost and he lived on the other side of this mountain. Well in our search we contacted a house with a ton of kids and there parents. They were in very poor conditions and the majority of the kids didn´t have clothes on. That day we had high goals to meet so we decided to put baptismal dates with all of them. They all accepted and we invited them to church. I thought for sure that none of them would go being that they lived really far from the church building. We continued working that day and finished the divisions the next day. I didn´t really think about them until the day I talked with the Elder at the Conference. It turns out that all of those being above the age of 8, got baptized and are active members in the church. 8 of them were above the age of 8. That was really cool and it is crazy how the Lord works.

Well I hope to hear from you all again next week and I love you lots

Amount of sweat sweated here in Nicaragua Hearts,

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-50145429266738739562011-10-03T16:27:00.000-07:002011-10-10T05:26:47.274-07:00Mon, Oct 3, 2011 at 4:27 PM

So yes Conference was fantastic. Even though I didn´t get to see all of it I liked the messages I did see. We had a few complications Saturday and Sunday but I will read the Liahona General Conference when it comes out. The ones I saw were really inspirational especially the talk of Elder Eyring in the Priesthood session. It made me realize how much more I need to work and put everything I have into everything in life to be happy. That through Christ and his love we can be sooooo happy in life. I wish I had my notes to write more but I don´t. It was really good though.

I do have a few more pictures to share with you. Here some more interesting flowers that I found here.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6Dy5pR2mcpkOgJdepqse2oUFREI_QitymKui8x2AfMLQEJ0cEoFw4yP-GtZWT8HLBqXhX9A5p9sVks6tIzmA9xsvQhODpzDJYkSzYTPYrZ7pbDJMFpiuPr-5f55HlmPoY8H3CpyyTt5Ij/s200/DSCF6040.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5661835608212518770" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGoIRY5NsJzflbaYLmK1x3aroqyTZvUBEqVzvRvDc9EEsHG36W-nmbfJZbQ7lqmdcFPBWUk6VrXuPhgcQKk_Ktqo0X6642rUHjFbxKyNkMcHJip0hPl-cOuV0_SJi3eE9vB0psMx5ERb8x/s200/DSCF6042.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5661835605295741282" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihVl81iL0Rqb5TIhSPEz3tNg8bhpEiYpz0ib5FGFPCgRd-SE8LgQu8X_oJauEdKCK9UlmdQ8ItJJ0FjMVXTeF3Vp7S3vakUSJSMQCk6OgL1oREgSQFHJptGIrPjztDyKEhFbQiYtzqV9aA/s200/DSCF6044.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5661835608165812450" />
And here is a different looking moth I saw the other day.

That is really awesome Rachel that you are now working. That is also awesome that you were able to be part of the Missionary Evening with the youth in the ward and that you could represent Panama. That was a cool white wolf. That wouldn´t be that cool to see here though, just really scary and you should get away from him as soon as possible. There are two Siberian Huskies here though, haha. They probably are dying in this heat, but they are cool. I had to chase one once because it escaped from its owner and he was really fluffy and wierd. Hey Rachel I got your letters and pictures. I wouldn´t be surprised to find those monkies with stingers here in Nicaragua. Tell Hunter and Samantha, and yourself thanks for the letters and drawings. I had to translate them in the Spanish class in Zone Meeting. Hey Rachel has Landon Montierth sent you a friend request yet on Facebook? If not send him one, I think he is sad, and he likes crows, haha. He is the one that sent you a letter with the Prodigal Son.

As for the family of 4, I think their pastor came by and put a bunch in their heads because now they never have time to talk to us. We are trying to clean up the mess. The lawyer, Rut, is alright but not progressing too much, we will see this Sunday if we keep teaching. But good news, Margarita, the wife of Ivanio, all of the sudden went to the General Conference, that was so awesome. We got to the chapel and she was just sitting there waiting. It may have been because we talked to Ivanio about how if he wants to be exalted and become like God some day, that he needs a wife. So we told him that she needs to get baptized and get sealed to him in the temple and everything. We told her that too. Hopefully she repents and comes unto Christ. Also a smart girl came to the conference with the son of the Bishop. Also 4 crazy friends that play the electric piano for an Evangelical church. They are all missionary age and cool. They came on 3 bikes all the way from San Marcos, which is a hilly ride. If you do the math right, one had to sit on the bar in the middle all the way there while the other peddled, haha. But they made it so that was cool. They want to play the piano in our church because we don´t have anyone that knows how. We will see how this all turns out.

So this whole week we haven´t had any power in the house. We have been going by candle light like in the olden times so that has been fun for us.

My comp met this crazy guy in the park for the first time today. He comes up to you and asks if you have heard his story. If not he tells you. He then grabs your hand and then puts it into a big ol hole he has in his head. It is really gross and then he asks you for money to buy pills. I have met him before. It was really funny to watch though, haha.

So not much has happened this week but it past good. I love you guys tons and tons and talk to you next week.

Salt Lake Temple Hearts

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-57437693211651165112011-09-26T17:19:00.000-07:002011-10-03T02:06:25.700-07:00Mon, Sep 26, 2011 at 5:19 PM

Hey there family! It is great to hear from you guys again. Thanks for writing all of these weeks for 20 months. There are other missionaries that don´t even hear from there parents or they stop writing much because they are almost going home. It is great that everyone is good and healthy and that you are having spiritual experiences every week.

Good news. I am still here in La Concepción! I get to have another change in paradise. I also got a new comp named Elder Chavez.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO90TXSDtKfeO_pug4j0J0BsIkUSmE54sLaessw75xJ9WHMKDXmKmUc4WijNn_V-87pWlBQop8qXBoMw7XMwuSLPCzEkaUHfEtjj9ZiywUtvI-Li_zo7Y0dCkTVEAsHJtbYdRDumPEclvt/s200/DSCF6007.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659185757285763794" />He is from Guatemala and his parents also served missions. He has about 18 months and he is cool. He teaches the lessons really clear and easy to understand. Something I am enjoying and bettering my own teaching now. He also speaks a lot of English so he is always wanting to practice with me. He is a combination of Ben Ward and Bobby Hancock. He reminds me a lot of them in what he does.

Rachel YSA sounds like a lot of fun. That is good that Delina is getting married. Do I know Zack? Scott is still going strong too? Are they still doing indoor soccer? How do you like your little red car? That is really funny with Dad going to the YSA activity and being your earth-friendly boyfriend for the night, haha. Did anyone ask or did they already know? That is really awesome Rachel that you were accepted to BYU Idaho and I will be praying for you to get into BYU Provo.

Mom you are a working machine. Thanks for the work and sweat that you do for us chillins. I love you so much for that, but don't worry because you won't need to that in about 4 months. I really do appreciate it a whole lot Mom but I have never told you that. As for your question about my goals, I haven't thought about it too much. I read that that can be thought out on the plane ride home. I have a lot of time coming home. What my general plans are are getting a job between the time till school starts up again. Going to BYU Utah and getting a place with friends from the mission, study business as a major and medicine as minor. Return to Nicaragua during breaks for what you already know and see where it goes. That is very general and I want to talk to you guys more about this. Maybe we don´t have much time to talk about this while I am here but when I am at home we will talk a lot more. A lot of fasting and prayer. This is neither set either but that is the idea.

Here are a few more flowers from down here to help you feel better:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim5RAMk0zykcWzngsP3ZeSg98vLWuH4J6M8DxVJPkZK0VWPN7XpjqTWj9HbKykUdou9Qgfrw9zUbUSL6Cyd4TNrZqrSR_sDn7Og5TTtnP_eb9GVx8Q9wcEDds-ZXA6aWpCdmUPHYU_6uqj/s200/DSCF6018.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659185757222872658" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGar3CtjKiq6fsnbEo8CiZAnAZm9msaO8-3llCXB1fhdd-50kWsZM4uQeC572i59Xcy1-J-mCyTCHR3kJiJz2FbZM7bfXbSAGw6fNXILl7zMnFr6EFUnosgVqyMoV0ZtAqUOSzfbg_Mu4f/s200/DSCF6021.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659185763425875186" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNg0QAmVebddClpRdyetq35aABvHr-TZ0_jtyRtUBThRTArEhmjdl4zYEEZ0OXfUrQ0gAVndUcZgACxQTO2A5ZGnOs9_QF2iH1xph0esxTxXPDA0ZKbrLlBubRMotjUpWTMTKi0ENbNmRz/s200/DSCF6022.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659185763138651602" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim88OqEBEZ5mbqSRmfQDX47eFJS6zkOswpXMOViCyrLyju68Jt2w-Uq2dQL24RM7lSTtnXrL2bVa8sFj4Jt5c4i7UftPjjbtj67O4stvLOCTyNnOsCboImeNcatuJKDo9WPaN1YeTmb6R9/s200/DSCF6023.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659185766880093266" />

As for the parents of Jaime and Elmer, I haven´t heard anything about them. As for the meeting with the parents of Jaime and Elmer, it didn´t go that great so we had to take other options. We have another investigator that is a lawyer and they found a way around the permission. It was all legal so it was fine. They are now happily together and now with the Holy Ghost. It was a really good turn out for the Baptism too. We had about 2 families and 6 people. It was a really cool experience and it made me so happy. I had worked really hard to get those baptisms. Including a few miles in the dark and rainstorm. I think I got a little bit of an idea of how the war was for Grandpa except for the bullets and explosions and stuff. But in the end everything went well. Sunday we had another family come to church that are also pilas and they liked the church a lot. It is also a family of four. If I stay here another change I will baptize them for sure.

I am not sure what else to write. The next time that I write you I will know if I am in another area or still here in La Concha. One thing I do need to know is which airport will I be returning to and what is the name of our new Stake President? I got my "trunky papers" and I need that information if I want to come home. I have permission to come check tomorrow so if you can send that info as soon as possible then that would be great.

Well I love you guys a whole bunch and I will see you in 4 months.

Lago Managua Hearts

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-46263593797986451462011-09-19T05:41:00.000-07:002011-09-19T05:56:19.102-07:00Mon, Sep 12, 2011 at 4:52 PM

Well, I don't have a lot of time but here are a few more pictures of some of the flowers that we have in our backyard.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVtgHdXB-66Si0SVLdh6yYx5HFtRqmw6AMQC15YZjeLUEIGD8uBuSx9u7XJ-wkEU2lmarIiTEQt5b_WhyO8t7Wc2fq6n01Yish9zjvhtXvZhVP0wTFX0IIcdqDfH_OKZGlAZ2hf3P9wF6_/s200/DSCF2057.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5654051822867617106" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5d9o9CiHPPe0oZvq2tg3KkHE-X4l-XGJGaEIfZZvauP5z91Dn1ZKTLFjMbK0lCLETsxLn3UyzfmngAnvtzJSZrPSZGH9YjxIqAzPHllLHe_kCbTSsBZNLXqfILF3zCXDM9XwqWA6UfM7O/s200/DSCF2058.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5654051822677426818" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6yuWT-mPxONNOBjGh6SFco8N-MCFey8B2YS0Za9CWjh_xRZX6H9KQoLNtQnK9ncDJESXGApzoxV_4A53vJwG1aI9yINYev1lXM0aXSV6IK3PE3tF68rysteSWmPNN5IAQhGacyGB2jF5w/s200/DSCF2059.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5654051826989295074" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBDvN8wXtZcP1Hx8GNUmQqvLGJ4ntAVP5lHwjgr9NaSjhcDlKXOIzIt0tXm4WvJK8ya7QxoKAdS1tI3neADNpDjQejZIEztLBheqVNqMOhTe_MH0zrz2iTVp0xYXCMWpceRIdt2dy5F6pW/s200/DSCF2060.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5654051830655454802" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC-Mpmco5Uhkyj4ojnAktoUxZis2FG5tFVrS0gpB-V4ueMZ1rE1Lv1Cu2nUD7luZpjQDVeJD_WCpRkL8dZBgcl7LNW0sl6sGyTHYbgVxmyMH3yWWK2ORIvaFps9qvpTQmYDKeikZGDMLPo/s200/DSCF2065.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5654051832649295218" />

That is very interesting Rachel. I guess that I will have to be careful when I get home and always have running shoes on, haha. I am glad that you finally took the BOMB pills because those buggers can be crazy. I am glad that you are having a good time.

Dad I learned about the grease fire thing from scouts of course. The sister only used the shirt for cleaning so it was fine with her. Better than the whole house, haha.

I wanted the painting for when I get back so I can have it in my room. It would be really cool.

The investigators are doing fine and we are preparing a family for the end of this week. It is for Jaime and Elmer. The only problem is that we have to talk to their parents first to give permission on the whole thing. That is why my letter will be so short because we are running over there right now and we got to the cyber late. We had a activity in the church in an another area so we got back a little late to our area. Sorry I will definitely write more next week. I want to tell you that I love you all very very much and I will hear from you guys next week.

Pile of Trash Heights here in Nicaragua Hearts,

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-59638666947053074922011-09-05T14:43:00.000-07:002011-09-12T04:37:35.783-07:00Mon, Sep 5, 2011 at 2:43 PM

Oh wow there is a lot of stuff happening now at home. Ryan has gotten back with Little Pizza again and still is a thief. Just let him know that he is still a wierdo. Thanks Rachel for the scripture you sent me. I don´t really remember reading that before and it is really cool. That is cool that you got to talk to Curt about Panama and what not too.

So the answer to all of those questions you gave me. The Papaya kid is at where we eat at night. He is going to give me an awesome armadillo carrier. There are a lot of armadillos down by the river here and they catch them and use their hard shells for european hand bags. They said they will write my name in it and give me one, haha. The garden in the backyard is taken care of by the sister that lives in a shed in the backyard, haha. She is wierd but really nice. I will take a picture of her shed next week. The Guacamole Ranchitas were kind of salty and made your tongue numb. The people that came to the baptism of Jose and Santos are from another area, which stinks. Supposedly they liked the church a lot and are going to send a document of rejection to their old church and come to ours now. There are a lot down there but I can´t baptize any of them. Of course it is great that they will be members but they are cool people I would have liked to get to know. Oh well, the Lord´s work, not mine. Jose Reyes knows how to make cool water jug things with the Jicaro shell and he said he will make on for me. We always get bitten by fleas when we go there but oh well. We were over there the other night and we played an interesting game with them.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaKIq8sVWBXGhufFyXoAEWSzELzvOyBS4BdxCIaclwWxjrrGNCPt5eYEIAg_6Ndmss24hNxu98bb-rBogrPGS_8QYe-m3d4SqKSwio5P3JtxQp-pRae5uqVYQwOAqk9ghvMlN1yys_0HXU/s200/DSCF2004.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649122852515137410" />

Jaime and Elmer are having a little bit of problems so they need your prayers and Margarita is still being really stubborn about all of this salvation business. They caught the guys that robbed Elder Sosa and got all of his stuff back miraculously, so that is cool. They also found the guy who killed the Father and he looks like one of the Beatles with a bad haircut, haha.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt2kU0DE_Qx9oZnAOigSIZ9L4rpJFDw5X9NluH32YfN8CrTbNRXp7KvjpLqlGvMJKwU_2L8Ypa-IzenSej9mM-h6MLWm-XDu80KjqJuwnDb8j1qF2Zk2e9b8csyrEcgGXYeeQBXv0WFHu4/s200/DSCF2025.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649125942736704530" />It was a drawn description. As for something more in the package, I can´t really think of anything else. Whatever you like.

That is good that someone is getting married like every week now. It sounds like a fun game you guys got into at the wedding. Did anyone ever get the 20 point shot? I don´t get why people complicate weddings so much either. It is too much of a headache with all of the ribbons and nice stuff. I will have mine ready the morning of, it is easy, haha. Ask Rachel what flavor of soda she wants for hers now.

There was a lot of things that happened this week but I don´t have to much time to write about it all. Don´t worry though because I am writing a lot in my journal everynight now. I really have gotten into the habit now. One thing is that I am reading Jesus the Christ again. I found out by a guy we contacted that everything in the world is fine to eat and consume except frogs. Suppossedly it is somewhere in "the word" referring to the Bible but he didn´t remember where it was, conveniently.

I pulled a really big pile of wood in a tiny wood cart to the house of someone we met in the street. I went up a hill and everything and then she didn´t accept us to teach her another day. Next time I meet her with a cart of wood again, I am going to sit on it. A few days later I carried another heavy pile of wood but on my head this time all the way to her house too. The lady also rejected us. I am not helping ladies with wood anymore.

The hermana next to our house made us some really good quesillos. It is basically tortilla, mozzarilla cheese, onions, and cream. I am going to make it when I get home.

The other day coming to our house we came around the corner and we had an encounter. There was a loose pitbull right in front of the gate to get into our house. If an encounter with a loose pitbull in Nicaragua isn´t scary enough he also had foam saliva coming out of his mouth. Rabies! He just stood there for a while staring at us waiting for one of us to move to attack. We just stood there completely still till for some reason he just turned around and began to walk away but the entire time looking back at us. Elder Sosa had the keys to get in but I was ready to hop the fence as fast as possible.

We also almost had a big accident at the house where we eat. The sister left the house with oil on the stove heating up. I was sitting in the kitchen, which I usually don´t do, when it started to smoke a lot. I thought she was just boiling water so I didn´t think much of it till a 3 foot flame burst out of nowhere. Elder Sosa was about to throw water on it but I stopped him before he could. I grabbed the pot and put it outside and threw a shirt over it. It burnt the shirt but that is the least of what could have happened. It was about to catch the curtains on fire, then the wall and then the gas tank which is right next to the stove, which would have been a huge grenade, if I wasn´t sitting there to put it out.

A young women in our ward that we reactivated, painted a really cool painting of Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrn-Sshm5mnQelAAgw3ZkAk0lJ2oSPJD5BSBp0c17spCVMMW6AsV57kc8FG3V6ImFy2vDIAlqdQ4D3t2i2v0GCk-gP4eVE3T0toNJE1AEbJpMFjYnSQcWhdx387sqLNL_UZRppE85-Fz60/s200/DSCF2022.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649122856987209490" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinJ4Wnd2WDNlU1wmVInPk5cXuaZao7ZS7_aWCQ5cqMe0pjPgtffmShv9X7D57Wi83F6BQJnMh1HEX4mCUKTLmUUaHq_ybYPn5JVZdNSaqTC6cu2Dnq0gz_bsUi2T4GHROzt3LD-ormHTIH/s200/DSCF2024.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649125938440669426" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzv1PqVgjYPn1xXT4q_CniJ2y52gzKVTqZ-9VJREWDLLeQki_PoGehPfzW3c9FwGy53GFl4AeQWx5z0enKVo8633f-8DpWAJq0TMsL3koeXECSIH0_smb0_PdgRdYgWxZxlt281ZSQN0wg/s200/DSCF2023.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649125941194932530" />
It is actually really cool. She analizes things very well.

Here is a picture of a really cool looking spider I saw the other day.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg31nV4t9O1mxg9JveGXRheZWH2CEBG3Og6ne_Zk9BRusk1FdzOb26j7Lz6it1YnPCIphQPzP3X7ThBL9tx2-4PlBvsacfq-rIuxKKj9AGfupSqJOfc15OPq-TkmvzFcVDmUlBX7TbhXT3m/s200/DSCF2009.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649122849862965266" />Sorry I didn't get the spider in focus very well but you can get the idea.

Well I am loving it here in Nicaragua with all of the crazy adventures but always with the protection of the Lord, which is cool. All of her side of the family came, none of them being members. there was about 15 people and 4 families that she brought so that was really cool. They seemed to like the church a lot. This Sunday another family came, Jaime and Elmer with their little daughter too. They could only stay for the first part but next week they are going to stay longer. They have their baptism date for this 14th of September. The day we put the baptims date she had a headache and she wasn´t really listening that much, afterwards we gave her a blessing and in the end she was crying saying that we can come by anytime we wanted to to teach them. It was really cool.

Something crazy that happened here in my area, the Father of the big Catholic church was robbed, tortured and killed this last Saturday. It is now national news here and they are coming down on the case to find out what happened and why. There are a lot of rumors but we don´t know the truth. Every night there are a lot of catholics in front of the church all mad. Supposedly they want to get revenge on the guy that did it. So it is kind of one of those creepy movies where there was a murder and there are a bunch of clues and theories. We are just waiting to hear the results. We also got robbed this week. The good thing is that they only robbed my comp. We weren´t hurt at all but my comp lost his ID and his mission card. The cool thing is that after they robbed him all of the neighbors came out of their houses with machetes, brooms, and pitbulls to catch them. They had taken more stuff but they ditched it when they were attacked.

My Birthday was really fun and thanks for sending me those messages from the family. A missionary brought a cake to District Meeting to teach the lesson not knowing that it was my birthday so I got cake. Later that day I bought stuff so that the fairies could make me tacos for dinner, and in the street working I found the exact amount that I spent on tacos in the gutter. Jesus gave me tacos for my Birthday!!! So that was really cool and tasty too

Today we had a meeting to talk about the Atonement with the President for 3 hours. It was really cool. I got a lot of answers and even more questions. Well we went all the way to Masaya to have the meeting and Presidente Monestel gave us permission to go to the market so I bought stuff for all of the family, well only half of it. I will try to send it home little by little. Again I was overwhelmed by all of the cool stuff so I still need to go back again to see everything. I got some pretty good deals too bargaining with the people. Some where a little mad that I got away with a good deal but o well.

Well I am loving it here in Nicaragua and the mission is going great. Thanks muches and muches for helping and supporting me out here. I send all my lovings to you.

White Mountain Hearts

Elder OchsThe Jochserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08495461905812242341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8885407131791404197.post-44515184565557070122011-08-22T17:15:00.000-07:002011-08-29T08:11:30.774-07:00Mon, Aug 22, 2011 at 5:15 PM

Well again the computer I am using is really slow and won´t let me put up my photos. I have a lot to send. But other than that it is good to hear that everything is going great at home and what not. That is awesome that you got to go down south to visit and the Frisbee Golf sounds pretty fun to try out when I get back. I think I have played it before and I think it was pretty fun too. Yosemite, that is awesome also. I have been telling people here about Yosemite and they are really interested.

So Jose Reyes Calero is doing great and he is ready for this Saturday to get baptized. We have been passing by to see if everything is going fine and he is good, even better than before. They are going to get married and he will baptized that very day.

This Sunday we got to see the dedication of the El Salvador Temple and that was really cool. I remember going to see one when I was younger but I didn't put too much attention to it because I don´t remember it. This one was really cool. Did you know that Elder Christofferson can speak Spanish and pretty well? He must have served his mission in a Spanish country or something. Elder Eyring had a translator for him and he was pretty funny during the setting of the cornerstone. The day before we got to see the cultural acts and dances of El Salvador so that was cool too. Our Zone has a lot of El Salvadoreans so they were excited for that.

Rachel, your friend from the mission did come and he was at the dedication. I think he is engaged to the sister of Hermana Calero. But he always talks to me when he has the chance and said he was talking to you on Facebook. He brought me a lot of mamones from his house because the Caleros told him I like them a lot. I got sick off of mamones. But he is pretty cool. Rachel, I also saw a pair of your pants the other day. I was sitting in a chair underneath some drying clothes and your pants where on my head. Those brown ones I guess that didn´t fit you anymore. Hermana Calero says that she loves you a bucopocoton, what ever that means.

So it has been really cool here in La Concha. I am learning a lot here and I have grown a lot. It has been a little difficult here than my other areas but that is what has helped me grow. Thank you Rachel for that talk about trials. I will read it when I get back home tonight. Well I love you guys tons and tons of tons.

Dang that is crazy that everyone is now in the house. I have received two emails about homecomings and being in the house and everything. Elder Montierth is going crazy at home with all of the world´s stuff and everything, but he is doing great. But I didn´t get an up to date email from Rachel being home. What is she doing to pass the time. Is she going to apply for BYU?

Actually it is just one fairy that comes and cleans the house. It is the lady that owns the house and she is a clean freak so she comes to clean it almost every other day when we leave. No she is really nice and even cooks breakfast and dinner for us if we ask her to. She just says to buy the supplies and she will do the rest for us. It is cool so I am not complaining.

Dad I am sorry that you didn´t like the papaya drink. Was it natural or just flavored powder to mix. If it was the latter than I am sure that it wouldn´t taste that good. The natural one is good and it doesn´t usually smell that bad.
As for Jose Reyes Calero, he wasn´t able to get baptized this week. On Thursday him and his wife got into an argument and he took off to hang out with "friends" and he drunk. We came to talk to him and he feels really bad for what he did. He has to go through a process of repentance now so it may be a week or two more till he can get baptized. This Sunday he still went to church but his wife didn't come. He really likes the church and is eager to be member. He was the only investigator that went to church. That kind of stinks because a lot told us they would be going. During the Priesthood session Chema had a really good input. He compared Rambo to the Law of Chasity somehow and it was pretty funny because it had nothing to do with what the lesson was about.
I don´t have the memory to my camera with me so this email is going to be really short. I will remember to bring it next week to send.

Well I love you guys lots and lots
Wow that is awesome to hear that everyone is having a good time and that you guys are all ready for the homecoming of Rachel. What do you guys have planned to do? What is Rachel planning on doing? Who is going to the homecoming? That is really cool. Ya pretty much everyone is going home now that I know here. I am used to say my goodbyes and being around people heading for the house.

Dad that is awesome that everything is going great for you and your new calling. I am glad that you are feeling a especially spiritual high now in your life. I love that feeling here on the mission. I remember when you were the ward secretary and you sat up there on the right taking number of everyone and we would go up there to draw pictures and stuff. I remember once I drew a brown train. Don´t ask me why I remember that.

I didn´t know that you had pictures printed out of crazy animals here. That grashopper was pretty fierce. But ya I keep seeing crazy and strange stuff everyday here. I know I have sent you a few pictures of some of the plants in our garden but there are a few others that are weird. One is a plant that just has a ball of grass growing at the end of it. I don´t know what in the world it is. Supposedly there are plants here that if you touch one it can almost kill you. I came in counter with a crazy plant the other day way out in the boondocks of my area. It looked like a spiky enlarged green bean. I was very interested in it and grabbed it when it just exploded in my hands and shout wet black seeds all over my shirt and on my comps face. It was quite the surprise. I will look for another the next time I see one and send a picture.
Thanks for those conversions from mililiters to cups because I haven´t made any potatoes yet not wanting to ruin it. There are no measurements of cups here so it can be difficult to make stuff here. Everyone just guess here so that doesn´t help. I will whip up a batch of it as soon as I can now. But you are liking that Cacao mix then Dad? Has Mom tried it out yet or are you on your own. If you want I can send more. It is really cheap here.
As for changes I don´t have any and neither does Elder Sosa so we will have 4 1/2 months together. This Saturday will be the baptism of Jose Reyes Calero so that is cool. Man it is tough to go down there to visit him and his wife. They live really far and down a steep hill. It takes about an hour to walk there from our house. And they always have wormy mangos waiting for us when we get down there. Yum. Mango season is over but they still have mangos, what does that tell you. It is a sacrifice but sacrifices bring blessings. I am doing fine stomach and health wise so don´t worry. I have formed quite the steel stomach. This Sunday we had two families at church so that was great.

Other great news is that we have fairies in our new house. Every few days we come home and the house, dishes, and the bathroom is completely clean. Can you believe it!? They finally found me here in Nicaragua! So that is really nice. Well I can´t send any pictures this week because the computer I am using is really really slow, sorry. For Pday today we got permission to see Cars 2. We used the big screen at the chapel, made food, cake, and played soccer. We got a super Pday because we baptized a lot this month as a zone so that was cool. I didn´t see much of the movie but it seemed pretty action packed. I also found out that President Ward in Panama is the uncle of our zome leader here named Elder Ward so that was pretty cool.
Well I love you all lots and lots and extra lots
